1953 Alpine rally plate - not MYT
In 2009 Chris (Adams) & Jean (Moss) decided it was time for MYT to re-enter International competition with only its 2nd 1 hour Enduro, the last being Alex McMillan in a 1hr high speed trial in April 1954.
This was instead of the short races, hillclimbs & sprints that the car had competed in for the last 45 years.
Although we had updated the car in 2007 then built the 3ltr engine & gearbox in 2008 to make the car reliable, the need to further update & rebuild the car with various more specialised parts became ever more obvious / pressing after its outing in 2008, with the car being finished on the Wednesday before Spa.
Steve Bamford was asked to share the drive with Chris.
We fitted a new axle (the original 3HA axle with the 4.09:1 ratio with 4 star diff (added by Four Ashes in the 1970s) would not stand the rigours of the modern stress's & strain's that a DB2 can be put through now with well over 210bhp) with a 3.92:1 ratio, rebuilt the rear suspension, relined the brakes again with competition material (an upgrade from 2007/8).
We also fitted new Dunlop L section tyres & MWS DB4 16"wheels, new exhaust manifolds, new road springs all round (several sets were taken for testing).
